In the spring of 2000 I put in a high volume Milodon aluminum water pump, Moroso low temp thermostat, auxiliary coolant drain and fill valves, Flex Lite fan with chrome center and blades, and Perma Cool frame rail transmission cooler. I cut two inches off of the width of the seat because it was interfering with the shifter. I replaced the aluminum fan shroud with a chrome one. I had to do some heavy duty grinding on the right front spindle because it was interfering with the caliper movement. 6/14/2001 - I've got the rearend out and I'm getting a Ford 9" for it. Built a mockup of the bed I'll build. I have the engine is part of the way disassembled. 11/14/2002 - It's about time I started doing a little updating on these pages. I've just been collecting parts for over a year. Little by little I'm getting it. The engine is out and on the stand. In the spring, I'll have it boiled and bored and the crank needs grinding if I don't buy another one. I got the 9" Ford rearend and decided not to use it. A friend gave me an 8' that I'll run. The 9" was out of a van so it was too wide and it had no posi. The 8" has posi and it's narrower. I've got all my radius rods now. They're stainless from Speedway. I got a new Posie's front spring. From Speedway I also got front perch bolts, shackles, clevis's, windshield support rods, batwings and front radius rod brackets, rear spring brackets and radius rod brackets, and windshield wiper and motor. From Total Performance I got chrome clevis pins and chrome friction shocks. From Summit I got a new polished Omni rack and pinon steering unit and Grant steering wheel. From Ron Francis I got the wiper bracket to fit my windshield. I'm just about to the point where I will have to have welding done somewhere. All these brackets and getting my front and rear end set up right. The latest pics are here - Rod pics 3
In the winter of '99, I bought a generic horn, red seat belts from J.C. Whitney, a cigarette lighter, an ash tray, a little module with a compass, thermometer, and clock, a 6" diameter Mr. Gasket air cleaner, chrome coil cover, a locking metal cashier type box (which I bolted to the floor), and a license plate light. I also replaced the cracked windshield which was how I bought it.
Things to get yet (as of 11\14\02) My Wish List: Mopar dual master cylinder Plug wires Motor mounts - biscuits Cragar S/S wheels Optima battery New key cylinder Fenders Fender braces B & M Torque convertor and flexplate High back bucket seats? Step plates?
Things and changes I want to do yet as of 11/14/02: Plug wires and that will take care of parts for the engine. I'll send the engine out for boiling and boring and either have the crank ground or buy a new one. Then I get to put it all together and wire it. I want to build a different pick up box for the back, maybe 30" long and wider than it is now. I've got a mock up out of styrofoam built. I have to get an extension welded on the rear of the frame to accomodate the longer pickup bed. Then get a larger gas tank than the 10 gallon one I have now. One lower and wider will give me more storage space which is at a premium in the bucket Then move the battery from under the passenger seat to the bed. Figure out how I want to use my '63 chevy taillights on the back of the bed. I got an emergency brake set up to put on. I've got my new fuse panel, so I'll be rewiring the whole thing. I have to mount and wire the Harley front turn signals and new headlights. I'm thinking about high back bucket seats from Summit. I'm also thinking about a roll bar. And I'm thinking about a roof of some sort.
