| Dead or Alive? by Jimme D. Collins Dedicated to all of US (They know who we are) Woke up one day to our country's call to arms, To Arms, To Arms, our dear country leaders cried. Sending us all to a foreign land, some of us died, some returned to a normal life here and there, others returned less than whole, needing care. Heroes one and all they should have proclaimed, Instead we were greeted as monsters and distained. Who was it that we had vowed to protect, only to return to disrespect and neglect. my mind remembers all my buddies I made, but all of these memories are starting to fade. Some went before me, some go even now, but, I know I will see them again somehow. |
