Terry you are doing one h___ of job with your site.I check it quite often looking for our brothers that did the deal. Just the other day H. McKay signed in I didn't know if he made it after getting hit on Mead River. I also learned that Kelly didn't make  t, he had come to see me while I was with the 1st. MAW in DaNang. That had to be shortly before he was KIA. Knowing Kelly he is probably God's radio man, take care and keep up the good work. Semper Fi Joe

Hey Sarge,  I was visiting your site, specifically the the "Brothers After the War" page, and I received an error when trying to sign your guestbook.  I don't know if you are aware of that, but I hope you get the opportunity to fix it.  I know it seems like a strange complaint, and it isn't really, but I was looking forward to letting you and your visitors know that there are people who give a shit that you took the time and effort to put that web page up.  My Mother pointed me in the direction of your site.  You see, she was friends with one of your brothers, Gary Breck.  Apparantly she worked with him and used to hang out and party with him too.  She didn't say much beyond that, and I don't pry.  I guess she knows I am kinda hypersensitive to those issues.  I served as a U.S. Marine from 1989 to 1993.  I signed that contract and swore to the oath keeping you and your brothers in mind.  Not you specifically, but the kind of men you represent.  The kind of men who made this country what it is and the kind of men to whom we all owe our freedom. Thankfully, men like you and your brothers have been around since the America's beginning.  They signed the document declaring our independence, embodied the constitution and bill of rights, and fought every battle under the red, white, and blue.  Sure they weren't all for America's Independence or for the Constitution or even for the defense of our citizens abroad.  But that matters not.  While the uniforms have changed throughout the years, the men wearing them have not.  You are among the most noble of Men, and I am sorry that history has mistreated you.  Most of all, I am sorry you had to lose your brothers.  I have always believed that the American Fighting man is the finest American this country has to offer.  No, we aren't all that knight in shining armor, we don't always do the right thing, and we aren't the most presentable lot. But we have gold for blood.  Gold that has bought this country freedom. Most of our countrymen walk around ignorant to their debt that finer men have payed for them.  It hurts to see it.  I know that today's "conflicts", or whatever we call them, are vastly different from the war you fought, and I respect that.  But I too lost brothers in war.  Daniel Walker, Ismeal Cotto, Dave Snyder, and Scott Schroeder all lost their lives on Jan 29th, 1991.  They were my Squadmates, and I watched them die in a lonely desert.  That wasn't all though, 7 more men in the Company I was attached to died that night.  Three more died in an accident egressing from an arty  strike that we were to provoke.  The first funeral I ever attended was for 14 men on the desert floor in a place without distinction.  To a certain extent, I understand your losses.  I guess I just wanted you to know that.  Amongst today's warriors, you are well respected.   Cpl. Jason P. Brown U.S.M.C 1st Light Armored Infantry Battalion 1st MarDiv

Cool site,I wish others would do what you have done. It's so nice to see the brighter side of the military from your prespective,I'm sure those days put alot of anxiety into alot of people in and out. I myself am retired.I joined in 77,when every little thing was a pain in the ass, including the TI's,but now that I look back I sure do miss the commrodity and the places I went. Find some more pictures and post them all up.I think you've done a great job. The GOOD,the BAD and the UGLY. I go to the VFW sometimes here in Utah and talk to the guys and they sure have alot of laughs talking about eachother and about then, even though they were hard times, you still had time to make a few budies along the way. I really enjoy talking to those guys and some are from Pearl Harbor some are from Vietnam. Believe me they can make me laugh anytime. Take it light.

Semper Fi! Brother. Got on to this site and looked at the map and thuoght i was getting ready for another convoy. Its the first time I have seen that area on a map since I left The Nam. Ran convoys down your way just about once a week.  I was with 11th Motor Trans Btn.  Out  f Danang.  Drank a lot of that rotgut Jim Beam at Liberty Bridge waiting for clearance from the mine sweep team so we could get to An Hoa. Didn't get there till June of 70 though and you were already back in the world.  That was some ride though.  Danang  as so close but so far away.  Lost some really good Bro's along that ride through Arizona territory. My first convoy in country was to An Hoa.  I was the lucky one to get the 50 cal. Boy standing on that seat trying to hold on to that sucker on that road  as a trip.  My first rocket attack in The Nam was down at the ammo bunkers at the base.  I think the ammo bunkers were close to the mess hall.  Its been a while, but this site brought a lot back that i thought i forgot. Well i rambled on enough.  Great si e.  I'll be back.  Goodnight Chesty whereever you are.  Later  Birdman

That picture of the bridge is refreshing my memory of traveling that road from An Hoa to DaNang back in 68-69. I was with 2/5 Batallion Supply and we made plenty of trips over that bridge. One trip especially...my driver and I were late for the convoy lea ing An Hoa one evening. I was the NCO at the time and I made the decision of leaving the An Hoa compond and try to catch the convoy in our truck. We were the only truck on that stretch of road that day and the Good Lord was with us all the way to the brid e. Just before the bridge I spotted an NVA flag off to my left in the woods. We were lucky and I was such a fool to take such a chance! Stayed overnight with the convoy on the other side of the bridge!

Dumb of me to ask if it was you when I got your e-mail, when all I had to do was click to the web site.  Keep up the good work.  I'll bookmark your site and keep looking for updates.

Bonjour Terry: Greetings from Canada. I always enjoy viewing Marine Corps or Marine related web sites. Proud to have served with the Marine Corps and to have completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. Good luck with your internet web site. Regards.
