Below are two organizations to which I belong.
Where I've bought most of my parts so far.
Summit and Jeg's have about the same items and are about the same in prices. They don't have a very big selection of small block Mopar parts though, which is why I use PAW more often.
Usually the best prices and free shipping. The biggest selection of small block Mopar parts.
Good for tools and generic items. Good prices.
Usually good prices. They have more street rod parts and chassis and suspension items for rods.
A few words with regard to my quest for parts... 2/11/01 - Since buying my T Bucket in 1999, I've had to relearn a lot of hot rod stuff that I'd forgotten 25 years ago including buying the parts. Some parts for small block Mopars are often hard to find. Getting MOPAR Performance Products Parts is even harder. It doesn't make any difference if you order them from JEG's, Summit, or PAW. Apparently the MOPAR people are having a problem producing their parts. Last spring, I ordered a chrome transmission pan, waited 3 months, and finally cancelled my order when they couldn't give me any idea when it would be sent. The first of December, I ordered a chrome timing cover. Last week I cancelled that because they didn't know when they would ever get them. To be fair - both times I ordered the MOPAR chrome bolts, also. Both times I received the chrome bolts. Now I have chrome bolts for the chrome tranmission pan I don't have and chrome bolts for the chrome timing cover I don't have. In December, I also ordered the MOPAR chrome dipstick and tube and it is still on back order. I've got catalogs from some of the specialty rod places like Total Performance, SO-CAL, and Southern Rod, but their parts price are usually higher. There are a few parts I'll be ordering out of them because it's the only place I can find those particular parts. So keep this in mind - If you see a guy with a souped up small block Chevy, you know that he was able to go to just about any parts store in the country and get whatever he wanted for his Chevy, usually right away. If you see a guy with a souped up Mopar, you know he had to do a lot searching and hunting and waiting to get his Mopar together. Ford is somewhere in between, but closer to Chevy in parts availability.
